Less honesty
Honesty needs to start with our news media. Private citizens (means) everyone including council, they are private citizens also. Parts of society on a whole are becoming less honest, and that’s really too sad, so sad.
Council, OUR Center
For the director of the OUR Center to even bring up navigation services is just causing trouble. The OUR Center has no interest in navigation services, and I think that is what the two councilwomen we’re pointing out. … The director … even earlier had said in the paper the OUR Center wasn’t interested in going after navigation services.
Why bother?
Why do you bother running this line if you don’t give people advance notice so they can prepare the articles the next day? Any kind of thing at the bottom of the page would have been nice if you’re taking Christmas off.
Editor’s note: Some weekends, we do not receive enough calls to fill out an entire column, so we hold calls for a day. Remember, not all calls are published, so there is no guarantee that a call will be published. To improve the odds of your opinion appearing in the paper, write a letter to our Open Forum.
Thanks from vet
I’m a Vietnam veteran, and I want to thank the people and the organizations that take … veterans to their doctors’ appointments and run errands and everything. It’s a great service. I appreciate their doing it, and I thank them for it. And I hope they continue it because the … elderly veterans that don’t have rides have a difficult time getting around. Thank you again.
Thanks for lights
Thank you, City of Longmont, for putting up lights along Main Street. It’s just so beautiful to drive down Main Street at night with the lights on. I hope you keep them up until the time change.
Amazing ballet
I attended the Centennial State Ballet’s performance of the Nutcracker on Saturday, and it was fabulous. The production value was on par with many professional companies, and the dancing of all ages was amazing, but I really appreciate the investment the Centennial State Ballet made in providing a live orchestra. Performing to live music really changes the impact. Centennial State Ballet is an asset to our community.
Abandoned people
It’s nice that Cultivate is helping vets. That’s great, but they abandoned so many other older adults, including lots of women and people who no longer can get to their dialysis or their heart doctor or any number of other really important medical programs and medical doctors in Longmont. It’s nice that they want to help vets, but they left a lot of other people with no way to get to their doctors.
