DART riders awoke to a rail system plagued with delays Wednesday morning, a day after loose electrical wires disrupted service Tuesday afternoon.
Orange, Red and Blue lines were impacted by more construction issues in time for the early morning commute, and DART officials said repairs could take most of the day.
Dallas Area Rapid Transit officials issued several rider alerts Wednesday morning.
“Orange Line passengers should expect delays and need to transfer to Green Line between Bachman and Pearl/Arts District,” read one alert on Twitter. “Then board shuttle buses between Pearl/Arts District and Lovers Lane due to overhead wire repairs near Mockingbird. Thank you for your patience.”
Later, similar alerts were issued for Red and Blue line passengers.
Riders on the Red Line were told to board shuttle buses between the Pearl, Arts District and Lovers Lane stations because of overhead wire repairs near Mockingbird Station. Blue Line passengers were directed to shuttle buses between the Pearl, Arts District and White Rock stations.
DART officials also said some shuttle trains between White Rock and downtown Rowlett will be in service to supplement bus shuttles.
Tuesday’s outage near the West End Station affected the Orange, Red, Blue and Green lines.
Shortly after noon, a southbound Green Line train was delayed near the West End Station because of damage to a part on top of the train that touches the wire for power, according to Mark Ball, a DART spokesman.
When DART staff were trying to assess the damage, they also found damage to an overhead electrical wire that may have come loose due to strong wind gusts after Monday’s cold front, Ball said.
