Patriots vs. Eagles odds, line, spread: 2019 NFL picks, predictions from dialed-in model on 91-61 run - CBS Sports

The New England Patriots hit the tougher part of their schedule and will seek out revenge when they visit the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. The Eagles knocked off the Patriots in Super Bowl LII, but New England is 8-2 against the spread coming off a bye since 2014. New England had an extra week to prepare and recover after a 37-20 loss to the Ravens, the Patriots' first defeat of the season. Meanwhile, the Eagles are rested as well after defeating the Bears, 22-14, in Week 9. Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. ET from Lincoln Financial Field. New England is a 4.5-point favorite in the latest Patriots vs. Eagles odds, up a point from where the line opened, while the over-under for total points scored is 44.5. Before you consider making any Eagles vs. Patriots picks, listen to the NFL predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, is up almost $7,000 for $100 players on its top-rated NFL picks since its inception four years ago. It has nailed its recent top-rated NFL picks, entering Week 11 of the 2019 NFL schedule on a strong 29-18 run that dates back to last season. It's also on an incredible 91-61 roll on top-rated NFL picks that dates back to the 2017 season.

Last season, the model also ranked in the Top 10 on NFLPickWatch for the third year in a row on straight-up NFL picks and beat more than 96 percent of CBS Sports office pool players. Anyone who has followed it is way up.

Now, it's simulated Patriots vs. Eagles 10,000 times. We can tell you it's leaning under, and it says one side of the spread cashes in well over 50 percent of simulations. Visit SportsLine now to get the pick.

The model knows the Patriots are 46-21-1 against the spread in their last 68 games following a straight-up loss. The defense still tops the league in yards allowed (249.3 per game) and scoring (10.9). Linebackers Jamie Collins leads the team in tackles (48) and sacks (6.0) and has three interceptions and a fumble recovery. Fellow linebacker Dont'a Hightower is second in tackles (40), has two sacks and returned a fumble for a touchdown. Devin McCourty leads the team with five interceptions, and Stephon Gilmore has three. The defense has scored four times.

The road team is 4-0 against the spread in the last four meetings between these teams, and Patriots quarterback Tom Brady surely hasn't forgotten that Super Bowl loss. The veteran has been spreading the ball around this season, and Mohamed Sanu has been a valuable addition. He caught 10 balls for 81 yards and a touchdown against Baltimore, his second game with the team. Julian Edelman is still reliable with 63 catches, while running back James White has been a major part of the passing game with 44 catches for 404 yards.

But just because New England has Brady and an elite defense doesn't mean it will cover the Eagles vs. Patriots spread on Sunday.

That's because the Eagles are 6-1 against the spread against teams with a winning record and the defense is eighth in the league in allowing 326.3 yards per game and just 87.3 on the ground (fourth). Defensive end Brandon Graham has six sacks over the past five weeks, and tackle Fletcher Cox and linebacker Nigel Bradham solidify the unit up the middle.

Carson Wentz runs an offense that scores 24.9 points per game and he has thrown for 2,060 yards and 15 touchdowns. Pro Bowl tight end Zach Ertz has 46 catches for 527 yards and two touchdowns.

So who wins Patriots vs. Eagles? And which side of the spread can you bank on in well over 50 percent of simulations? Visit SportsLine right now to find out which side of the Patriots vs. Eagles spread you should be all over on Sunday, all from the model that has returned over $7,000 on its top-rated picks.
