Sixers vs. Jazz odds, spread, line: 2019 NBA picks, Dec. 2 predictions from model on 9-1 run - CBS Sports

On the second night of a challenging back-to-back, the Utah Jazz will travel to Philadelphia to take on the 76ers on Monday. Utah dropped a lopsided decision in Toronto on Sunday, while Philadelphia picked up its seventh win in eight games with a 119-116 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Saturday. Josh Richardson (hamstring) is doubtful to play for Philadelphia, while the Jazz boast a relatively clean injury report. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. ET from the Wells Fargo Center. Sportsbooks list the 76ers as 5.5-point home favorites, while the over-under, or total number of points Vegas thinks will be scored, is 207.5 in the latest Sixers vs. Jazz odds. Before you make any 76ers vs. Jazz picks or NBA predictions, see what SportsLine's advanced computer model has to say.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every NBA game 10,000 times, and last season it returned a whopping $4,280 on its top-rated NBA spread and money line picks. It's already returned over $700 in profit on all its top-rated NBA picks during the 2019-20 season and entered Week 6 on a blistering 9-1 run on all top-rated NBA against the spread picks. Anybody who has followed it has seen huge returns and come out on the right side of NBA odds.

Now, the model has set its sights on Sixers vs. Jazz. We can tell you that the model is leaning over, and has generated a strong against the spread pick that is hitting in well over 50 percent of simulations. You can head to SportsLine to see it. Now, here are several NBA betting lines and trends for Jazz vs. 76ers.

  • Jazz vs. 76ers spread: 76ers -5.5
  • Jazz vs. 76ers over-under: 207.5 points
  • Jazz vs. 76ers money line: 76ers -210, Jazz +177
  • UTAH: Allowed 120 points or more in 3 of 4 games
  • PHI: Joel Embiid has posted three straight 25-point double-doubles

The model understands that Utah is in a tough spot from a travel standpoint. However, it is unquestionably an advantage for the Jazz if Richardson were unable to play for the Sixers, as he presents a strong two-way option on the wing for Philadelphia. In addition, Utah's overall defensive profile matches up well with Philadelphia. Rudy Gobert is perhaps the game's best rim-protector and provides an option with elite size to counteract Embiid. The Jazz are a top-10 team in the NBA in forcing sub-optimal shots, and Quin Snyder's team is also elite in securing defensive rebounds and avoiding costly fouls.

But just because the Jazz have a few edges doesn't mean Utah will cover the Sixers vs. Jazz spread on Monday.

The model also knows that Philadelphia is playing much better than Utah, even before taking into account the advantages for home-court and rest. The 76ers have a relatively pedestrian offense to this point in the season, but defensively, Philadelphia is an elite group. Embiid anchors a dynamic unit that is top-five in the NBA in overall defensive rating.

On the other end, the 76ers' offense is often held back by turnovers, but in this game, that shouldn't be a glaring issue. Plus, Philadelphia's ball security issues may still be an issue, but Utah isn't the team to take advantage of them in full force.

So who wins Jazz vs. Sixers? And which side of the spread hits in well over 50 percent of simulations? Visit SportsLine now to see which side of the Jazz vs. 76ers spread you need to jump on Monday, all from the model that has crushed its NBA picks, and find out.
