Year’s top story
The late November heavy snowstorm and lingering ice was the top story of the year in Longmont because it had the highest impact on everyone in town. Overbearing oil and gas regulations only appease the anti-frackers.
Critical thinking
Editors, the comment you posted under “Dire predictions” is a fine example of why we need to teach children critical thinking skills. It’s apparent that whoever made the comment doesn’t have the skills and believes everything that is spoken of on the television news or read in other locations other than the Longmont Times-Call.

Selfish celebration
We have some very selfish neighbors who shot off fireworks all night long on New Year’s Eve, not thinking about how they were scaring the cats, the dogs and the wildlife; not thinking about how they were waking up the babies, small children and adults; and not thinking about how they were re-traumatizing our military (veterans) who have served this country and restarting their PTSD responses.
