Ideas for Longmont
I have two ideas for the city of Longmont. One is, has anyone at the city or RTD contacted the Oracle of Omaha to see if he would have an idea for … negotiating a plan for the (commuter) rail corridor, because he owns BNSF? I think it can’t hurt to contact him and maybe work out a deal with him, because he’s a reasonable person. And the other thing is, I think the city really needs to consider putting a traffic signal at 17th Avenue and Airport Road, where a lot of school kids cross crosswalk in a 40 mph zone, just to for the kids sake, to protect them.
Injured troops
President Trump and other top officials said Iran’s attack had not killed or injured any U.S. service members. I just read that 34 troops have brain injuries after the Iran attack. If you’re going to lie about something like that, you’re going to lie about anything.
Abortion numbers
Regarding the call … titled “Forced birth?” in (Friday’s) TC Line: Less than 0.5% of girls in the U.S. obtain an abortion because of incest. This caller should check statistics before suggesting abortion numbers are high in 13- and 14-year-old girls. The first caller who said life is precious is obviously talking about the 696,000 abortions that take place every (year) in the United States to women ages 15 to 44. Many women use abortion as birth control, which is immoral and tragic.
Poor investor
Mr. Anti-Trump stockholder sure is a poor investor if he’s lost $10,000 in the last three years. The stock market has risen by nearly 48% since President Trump took office.
Commuting solution
Now that we’ve taken care of all the rich members of our community with the express lanes on Highway 36 and I-25 heading south into Denver, since money is no concern to those people, how are we taking care of the rest of us on the budget who need reliable, fast transportation into Denver. Where is FasTracks, the solution for the common person?
Relevant lies
I am responding to the 16,000 fact-checked Trump lies. If the president says good morning to a staff member on a day during impeachment hearings, that should go down on the list of lies because it is not a good morning for the president. The question is not the number of lies on the bogus list but rather the relevance. I cannot think of a presidential lie in the last 11 years that has more adversely affected the American people then the promise that our health care costs would go down with Obamacare.
Rib House
I’m calling … about the Rib House restaurant being closed. It saddens me to know end to (lose) the best ribs, the best service, best help. Everything about it was 10 out of a … 10. I know Lucky’s … is (being) closed, but then I didn’t (shop) there.
